Talking Stick Resort opens new high limit room with illuminated staircase entry

Several years ago, Clearwing worked with the designers for Talking Stick Resort to create the control for color changing staircases in an expansion.  When the Casino wanted to create a new High Limit Room, they again desired the vibrance of lighted stairs.  The same team, including Clearwing, were contracted once again to provide a dynamic and unique experience.

For this staircase, Clearwing provided the control as well as the lighting fixtures.  Traxon RGB strips were chosen for the small distance between pixels, the ability to cut custom lengths in the field and the intensity of the output through the textured glass.  The auxiliary power and control pieces could also be remotely located and not eat up space in the side walls.  Eaton motion sensors were placed along the edges of the stair treads to change colors as people walk up and down the stairs.  Colors are determined by one of the fifteen custom programs easily chosen at the Tessera touch screen in the hostess stand.

Each individual Traxon pixel requires three channels of control which totaled over 5,000 channels, or eleven DMX universes.  The ETC Mosaic architectural system was again used which managed the DMX channels and the input signals from the stair sensors.  Clearwing designed and created three large power and control boxes which are hidden near the staircase to house all the power supplies, network switches, DMX gateways and the Mosaic Show Controllers.
