Less than a year after partnering with Clearwing Systems Integration to revamp the Audio System in the school’s Auditorium, Waterford Union High School once again chose Clearwing Systems Integration to design and update the auditorium’s Lighting and Rigging systems.
Together, Clearwing and the school collaborated in designing and installing systems to provide flexibility for various types of events while remaining easy to use for the faculty and students. The new ETC Ion Xe Lighting Console controls an all-LED, energy-efficient lighting plot consisting of 28 ETC ColorSource PARs, 46 ETC ColorSource Spot’s, 10 ETC ColorSource Cyc’s,13 ETC ColorSource Linear 2’s, and 4 Ayrton Diablo’s. New power and data distribution, and an ETCpad complete the lighting install.
The new rigging system includes an ETC P1500E Prodigy Hoist with power distribution and cable management systems to create a front of house lighting position. The hoist is controlled by an ETC QuickTouch Controller to easily lower and raise the fixtures as they will need to be changed out and re-focused for different events in the space.
The auditorium received a lighting facelift over the audience with a retrofit of the existing house light fixtures utilizing Soraa’s PAR38 LED lamps with their groundbreaking Snap SystemTM lenses. These lamps provided an even wash of the auditorium along with smooth dimming that made them a perfect choice for the application.
Robert Juliats’ Roxie Follow Spots were specifically chosen for this install to fulfill a multipurpose use at the school, as they were designed to be used in multiple venues. Their small form factor, energy efficiency, and ease of use made us confident they will be a good fit for years to come.
